In a landmark convergence of sports governance and indigenous biomedical engineering, the Boccia Sports Federation of India (BSFI), led by President Jaspreet Singh Dhaliwal, signed a formal Memorandum of Agreement with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR, Government of India) and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) to develop India's first indigenous BC3 Boccia Assistive Ramp.

Breaking Import Barriers for Severe-Impairment Athletes

  • World Boccia (BISFed) Precision Engineering: Designed for BC3 athletes with severe locomotor dysfunction across all four limbs, the indigenous ramp features calibrated elevation, azimuth stability, modular extensions, and low-friction ball release channels compliant with World Boccia call-room box dimensions.
  • Handover to Indian Army Boccia Wing: During the 2nd Boccia India Federation Cup in New Delhi, the indigenous BC3 ramps were officially handed over to Indian Army Boccia players in the presence of senior Armed Forces and ICMR dignitaries.
  • Empowering Grassroots Access: By replacing prohibitively expensive imported ramps with an affordable, high-precision Indian design, BSFI has unlocked BC3 competition for hundreds of athletes nationwide.
