Official Presidential Message: Building an Inclusive Paralympic Boccia Ecosystem in India

When we laid the institutional foundations of the Boccia Sports Federation of India (BSFI) in 2015, our mission was clear: to ensure that athletes with the most severe locomotor impairments—including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and tetraplegia—have a world-class competitive pathway to represent India on the Paralympic and World Boccia stage.

Three Pillars of India's Boccia Transformation

• World-Standard Technical Governance & Officiating: Through international refereeing and coaching certifications across Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Beijing, and Tokyo, BSFI has embedded authentic World Boccia (BISFed) call-room, sport-classification, and court-officiating protocols across ten consecutive National Boccia Championships and two Boccia India Federation Cups.
• Indigenous Assistive Technology (ICMR & IIT Madras): By partnering with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and IIT Madras to engineer and patent India's first indigenous BC3 Boccia Assistive Ramp, we eliminated cost barriers for severe-impairment athletes and handed over precision equipment to the Indian Army and state associations.
• International Podium Excellence: From winning 6 medals at the Manama 2024 World Boccia Challenger in Bahrain and making our historic World Boccia Championship debut in Seoul, South Korea, to sweeping 5 Gold Medals at the Pilsen 2026 World Boccia Challenger in the Czech Republic, Indian Boccia athletes have proven they belong among the world's elite.

Working in close alignment with the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI), the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (MYAS), and the Sports Authority of India (SAI), our focus now turns toward the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan and long-term Paralympic podium qualification.
